The NVIDIA MMA4Z00-NS is a high-speed twin-port OSFP transceiver designed for InfiniBand and Ethernet networks, delivering up to 800Gb/s through two 400Gb/s SR8 (2xSR4) channels. Each port uses MPO-12/APC multimode optical connectors, operating with 100G-PAM4 modulation to provide reliable performance over distances up to 50 meters when using multimode fiber and two patch panels.
This design enables dense connectivity—supporting up to 64 x 400Gb/s links in a 32-OSFP Quantum-2 switch, or 64–128 ports in Spectrum-4 switches. The module automatically supports both InfiniBand and Ethernet protocols, depending on the switch it’s paired with.
For thermal management, Quantum-2 and Spectrum-4 switches require finned-top OSFP shells, while a flat-top version is available for liquid-cooled environments and DGX H100 Cedar7 systems. Its primary use is connecting switches together with short-reach fiber links.
