The Process to Sell IT Equipment
1. Send Us A ListSend us a spreadsheet or inventory list of the hardware you’d like to sell, and within 2 business days we’ll get back to you with the current wholesale market value and an offer on your hardware. If you don’t have the list handy, we can provide a quote with the following:
- System or Part Model Numbers
- System Configurations, E.G. CPUs, RAM, Drives, and GPUs
- Date of Purchase and Condition
- Dell service tags (if applicable)
2. Get a QuoteYou will receive the market value quote for your equipment within 2 business days, and the offer is good for one week. At this juncture we will determine:
- Project location(s) and logistics details
- Deliverables (such as if you need drives shredded or wiped on site, is hardware palletized, etc)
- Compliance, data security, and policy requirements
3. Get PaidOnce you’ve accepted the offer and the project is initiated, we will arrange for shipping or on site pick up. We can be on-site the very next day. Chain of custody documents and certificates of data destruction will be issued, and payment will be provided according to the terms set in the earlier phase.

How can I protect my IT equipment in transit?
Standard packing materials is simply not sufficient to protect your IT assets during the shipping process. We are happy to provide shipping materials for your IT assets and shipping insurance free of charge.
A good rule of thumb is to leave no wiggle room for any parts whatsoever. CPU and RAM trays should be taped together, servers should be packed in form fitting polyurethane foam, and GPUs should have custom foam boxes. For more information consult our IT packing instructions page.
What specific server brands are most valuable?
For value, it’s less about the brand of server than it is about the model number and the specs of the components. For example, a barebones Dell poweredge r740 without any components in the chassis is actually less valuable than an HPE dl380 proliant gen9.
Where to sell used IT equipment
