How To Sell Your Used Arista Networking Equipment
1
Provide Your Arista Hardware Details
Start by sending us an inventory of the Arista networking equipment you want to sell. You can upload a spreadsheet or simply list the models and quantities. Within 1–2 business days, we’ll respond with a purchase offer based on the current wholesale market value of your gear.
Don’t have a ready inventory list? No problem – we can work with basic info to build a quote, including:
- Model Numbers & Quantity: e.g. Arista switch or router model (7050, 7280, 7500 series, etc.) and how many of each you have.
- Hardware Specifications: Configuration details like port counts and speeds (10G/40G/100G), any installed modules or line cards, and overall condition of each unit.
- Photos: Clear pictures of the devices (front and back) to help verify configurations or any cosmetic condition.
- Location: Where the equipment is located (for logistics planning).
2
Free Shipping & Secure Logistics
Once you approve our offer (quotes are typically valid for 7 days), we’ll coordinate the safe pickup and shipping of your Arista equipment. Our logistics team works with you to determine exactly what is needed:
- Packing & Shipping: We provide professional packing materials, boxes, and pallets as needed. All shipments are fully insured and trackable, or we can arrange on-site decommissioning and pickup for large data center inventories.
- Chain of Custody: We maintain strict chain-of-custody protocols. Our drivers are background-checked and GPS-tracked. You’ll receive paperwork documenting the transfer of your Arista assets for your records.
- Scheduling: Let us know your timetable – we can often be on-site as soon as the next business day once the project is confirmed. We’ll work around your schedule to minimize any downtime or disruption.
- Compliance Needs: If you have specific compliance requirements (e.g. need certified data destruction for device configurations or logs), we’ll incorporate those. We can provide Certificates of Data Destruction or other documentation as required.

Arista Networking Switches
Arista switches are the backbone of many cloud and enterprise networks, known for their high-performance, low-latency switching and robust EOS software. exIT Technologies actively purchases all major Arista switching series – including the flagship Arista 7000 series that covers everything from top-of-rack switches to modular spine chassis. We buy both current-generation models and legacy units, so you can trade in your Arista switches whether they’re the latest 100GbE models or older 10GbE workhorses.
Popular Arista switch models we purchase include:
- DCS-7050QX-32S – 32-port 40GbE top-of-rack switch
- DCS-7050SX2-128 – High-density 10GbE switch (96x10G + 8x40G)
- DCS-7160-48YC6 – 48-port 25GbE & 6-port 100GbE hybrid switch
- DCS-7280SR-48C6 – 48-port 10/25GbE with 6-port 100GbE deep-buffer switch
- DCS-7280CR2-60 – 60-port 100GbE fixed chassis (R-series ready for routing)
- DCS-7504 / 7508 / 7512 – Arista 7500 series modular chassis (4-slot, 8-slot, 12-slot core switches)
- 7300 series modular switches
- 7010T-48 and 7048 series gigabit switches
Arista Routers
Arista’s routing platforms deliver carrier-grade performance for cloud networks, service providers, and enterprise cores. Many Arista “routers” come from the same 7000 family with R-series designations, offering large routing tables and deep buffers for intensive workloads. We purchase Arista routers and routing-capable switches that are purpose-built for spine, core, and edge routing roles. This includes the powerful modular routers and fixed systems that support advanced BGP routing, MPLS, and 100G/400G interfaces.
Examples of Arista routing equipment we buy:
- Arista 7280R Series – e.g. DCS-7280R3-24 and 7280SR2-48C6 high-performance fixed routers (deep buffer, 100G ready)
- Arista 7500R Series – e.g. Arista 7504R and 7508R modular routing chassis (4-slot and 8-slot) with 100G/400G line cards
- Arista 7800R3 Series – Next-gen high-density modular routers (Arista 7800 family for cloud core routing, up to 800GbE ready)
- Arista 7020R Series – Compact deep-buffer routers (like the 7020SR models for collapsed spine/leaf or IP storage networks)
- Arista CCR & WAN Routers – Arista’s Cognitive Campus and WAN edge routers (such as the Arista 7x0 Series appliances)
Note: Many Arista switches (7500, 7280, etc.) double as routers – whatever the form factor, if it routes or switches in an Arista chassis, we’re interested!
Arista Transceivers & Optics
In addition to hardware, we also buy Arista-branded optical transceivers and cables. Arista’s switches often use Arista-coded SFP/QSFP optics for connectivity. If you have a stockpile of unused optics from upgrades or decommissions, send them our way. We accept most fiber transceivers and direct-attach cables, including the latest high-speed modules and even legacy GBICs if they are Arista-compatible. Converting these components to cash is a great way to recover additional value from your network gear.
Types of Arista optics we purchase include:
- 1GbE SFP Modules: Arista 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX SFP transceivers
- 10GbE SFP+ Modules: Arista 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-LR SFP+ optics
- 25GbE SFP28 Modules: Arista 25GBASE-SR and LR transceivers
- 40GbE QSFP+ Modules: Arista 40GBASE-SR4 and LR4 QSFP+ optics (and DAC cables)
- 100GbE QSFP28 Modules: Arista 100GBASE-SR4, LR4, CWDM4 and PSM4 modules
- Other Arista Optics: 50G PAM4, 4x10G breakout cables, 100G AOC cables, and even newer 400G/800G QSFP-DD modules – if Arista makes it, we likely buy it.
Note: Many Arista switches (7500, 7280, etc.) double as routers – whatever the form factor, if it routes or switches in an Arista chassis, we’re interested!

Arista Buyback FAQs
We typically look for a minimum of around $2,500 in total hardware value for a buyback. This can be a single high-end Arista switch or a mix of several smaller items. If you’re not sure your gear meets the minimum, send us your list anyway, we’re happy to review it. For large-scale sell-offs (like dozens of switches), there’s no upper limit, we handle bulk sales regularly. Small one-off items (like a lone outdated switch) may not meet our purchasing minimum, but we can advise you on alternatives in those cases.
We take data security seriously for all IT assets, including networking gear. Before resale or recycling, we reset devices to factory defaults and clear any configurations, saved logs, or configurations stored in flash memory. Our process ensures that any sensitive information (like network configurations, SNMP keys, or VLAN settings) is completely removed. We are R2v3 certified, and if required we can provide a certificate of data destruction confirming that your Arista equipment was sanitized. You are welcome to do a factory reset on your gear before sending it in, but even if you don’t, we will securely wipe any device as part of our service.
No need to worry, we handle the packing and shipping for you! Once you accept our quote, we can send you pre-paid shipping labels and even custom packaging materials at no cost. Arista switches and routers are heavy, sensitive electronics, so proper packaging is important. If you choose to pack yourself, we recommend using anti-static bags for any removable optics or modules, cushioning equipment in foam or bubble wrap, and double-walled boxes or pallets for large units. Leave no empty space for movement in the box. However, most clients let us take care of it: we can deliver shipping kits (foam, boxes, pallet crates) to your location, or arrange for our team to pick up and palletize the equipment on-site. All shipments are insured and tracked, so your Arista gear is protected door-to-door.
Yes, we understand not every piece of gear is in perfect condition, and we do purchase as-is hardware. If an Arista switch or module is partially working, has some ports down, or if you simply haven’t been able to test it, let us know the details. We can often still make an offer, especially if the model is in demand for spare parts. For untested or “as-is” units, our quote might be a bit lower to account for the risk, but we’re still interested. Even non-functional Arista hardware can have residual parts value (power supplies, transceivers, chassis parts) or recycling value. We do ask that you disclose any known issues (for example, “this unit doesn’t power on” or “fan module missing”) so we can accurately assess it. We’re committed to finding value in any condition, and if a unit truly has no resale value, we will recycle it in an eco-friendly manner for you.
