Cloud migration services companies: Find the Right Cloud Migration Services for You in 2021

Picking cloud migration companies
Reading Time: 9 minutes

Are you planning a cloud migration soon and looking for the right company or services to help you?

Look no further, you’ve come to the right place.

As one of the leaders of a data center services provider myself, I know how to evaluate cloud migration companies.

Need to find cloud migration services based in a particular area? No problem. We cover which companies cover which areas.

Need to find cloud migration services with a particular specialty? I’ve gone ahead and evaluated each data center migration consulting company by their expertise in each area.

Unsure which cloud migration services companies are most trustworthy or most established? I’ve evaluated the reviews across several sites for each, as well as analyzed the sentiment among sys admins, IT directors, IT managers, CTOs, CIOs, CEOs, Cloud architects, and generally every type of stakeholder involved with cloud migrations.

Before we jump in though, I will say that if you already know which cloud platform you want to migrate to, it might make sense to check out their partner directories. AWS has a partner directory for example that gives good high level overviews, certifications, and locations.

As opposed to a list of all the best partners for migration to one cloud platform, the purpose of this article is more to share what I’ve found to be the most promising cloud migration companies across all niches.

Our List of Top Cloud Migration Companies

keyrus cloud migration services

Keyrus

Among the cloud migration companies and digital transformation companies on this list, Keyrus is probably the most well rounded on the Business Intelligence (BI) side. They seem to invest well in R&D and data science.

If your project is less “I just want to run my apps in the cloud” and more “how can I use the cloud to maximize the performance of every digital system and process we have” then they seem like a valuable option.

They definitely seem to know their data science, at least. Talking to guys in the business intelligence industry specifically, I heard a lot of negative feedback about the larger firms. The ones who had worked with Keyrus had good things to say. The cloud migration folks are pretty well respected as well.

Spaulding Ridge specializes in consulting for enterprise digital transformation through integrated cloud.

Year founded

2016

Headquarters

Chicago, IL

Global, though their presence is mostly in the US.

Cloud migration Services

Spaulding ridge would be a good contender if you need to migrate your systems to one of their partner services, like

  • Anaplan
  • MuleSoft
  • DocuSign
  • OneStream
  • NetSuite
  • Coupa
  • SalesForce
  • Salesforce.org

In other words, they could be a good pick as a consultant to help you implement some of the above typical business management technologies in the cloud.

They don’t seem like the natural choice if you have an enormous library of workloads running in-house currently that you need to migrate and optimize in AWS or the like.

Other Services

  • Consulting for change management
  • process improvement
  • strategic planning via analytics
  • process automation consulting

2nd watch digital transformation companies

2nd Watch

2nd Watch is a pretty well reviewed but smaller venture backed company that specializes in cloud migration and digital transformation services.

Year founded

2010

Parent Company

Temasek Holdings – owned by the government of singapore.

Headquarters

Liberty Lake, Washington.

Area served

They’ve done global, but their only locations are in the United States.

Cloud migration Services

They provide pretty much all the services you would expect of a company that’s specialized in cloud migrations.

  • Digital transformation
  • Cloud consulting
  • Cloud migration
  • App modernization & DevOps
  • Analytics
  • Managed Services
  • Cloud Optimization
  • Compliance, Security, and Business Continuity Consulting

Overall, I’d say if you’re looking for a managed public cloud provider and you don’t need all the bells and whistles that come from one of the largest cloud migration companies, they’re worth a look.

They seem fairly provider agnostic, as they’re partnered with Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, and AWS

I wouldn’t consider them if you have a complex multinational project that might require the staff of a larger consulting firm to handle, or a project that’s more hybrid cloud related and not as suited to a managed public cloud provider.

Other Services

They’re pretty much just specialized in Cloud Migration and Cloud Consulting Services.

Revenues

Estimated around $30M to $50M

Certifications and Awards

  • Google Cloud Partner
  • AWS Premier Consulting Partner

They’re a smaller company, so there’s really not much discussion out there about them, and most of the IT decision makers I asked didn’t have much to say about them.

Navisite Cloud Migration Services logo

Navisite, Inc.

Navisite in its current iteration is the recent product of a merger. RDX, a full-stack services provider, merged with three managed services providers: Clckwrk, ClearDB, and Navisite, the latter of which became the de facto brand name moving forward.

Navisite Cloud Migration Services

Navisite mostly specializes in mid-market customers between $100 Million and $2 Billion in size.

They are a reasonable option to consider if you want to move to a hybrid cloud based in their data centers. For example, if you wanted to house your workloads in a private cloud on their data centers, then run some workloads with Microsoft Azure, vSphere, or AWS

If you want to do significant work with Kubernetes, Containers, or similar cloud-native technologies, I wouldn’t recommend using Navisite; it’s evidently not their specialty.

I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re a startup.

I also wouldn’t recommend them if you are looking to run workloads in Google Cloud.

Navisite Sentiment

There honestly isn’t a lot of discussion online about Navisite compared to some of the largest cloud services providers.

What is out there isn’t particularly encouraging. They were often called “spectrum enterprise” because they were owned by the same parent company, Charter. Internet Service Providers aren’t exactly known for being loved businesses, so that’s something to be aware of, though they’ve since been “acquired by RDX.” Time will tell if that improves Navisite or worsens it.

What is a bit confusing is that if you try to go to the RDX website, you’ll find the announcement that “RDX is now navisite” and get forwarded to navisite’s website. Usually the acquired company goes under the acquiring company’s umbrella, not the other way around.

Infogain corporate logo

Infogain

Infogain is aptly branded with the slogan “engineering business outcomes.” They’re one of the larger firms.

As such, they seem to have a diverse skill set to help you implement a wide range of digital transformation projects. In general they seem to be pretty capable at using technology to engineer solutions to business problems.

While they do offer cloud migration services, it seems they’re more suited to their particular niche, so I’d recommend them only for certain use cases, not as a general purpose cloud migration company.

Cloud migration Services

So they have a few case studies demonstrating that they’ve handled some tricky cloud migrations of workloads into the cloud.

They seem pretty vendor agnostic in terms of cloud providers, as they have case studies and/or partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure

They seem to specialize in migrations having to do with front-end or customer facing technologies. This makes sense given their platform and program engineering background.

That’s something to keep in mind if you consider them for cloud migration consulting services.

Other Services

So they’ve got a pretty comprehensive service suite.

  • Digital Strategy
  • UX design
  • Service Design
  • Data analytics, AI, Data Science optimization
  • Data modernization
  • IoT Services
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Automation
  • Software Assurance Engineering
